ENDOWMENT FUND FOR NEEDY WRITERS, POETS AND ARTISTS 
Through a development scheme in ADP 2008-09, Rs. 200 Million “Endowment Fund for Needy Writers, Poets and Artists” has been created for welfare of the intellectuals and public heroes by Culture Department, Government of Sindh. The Fund is managed by a high powered Management Board headed by Minister, the Secretary of the Department and Director General Culture being its members. The nine (09) other members are from private sector which includes leading scholars, Poets and artists. The Board generally verifies credentials of the applicants and assesses their actual need. As a matter of policy the preference is given to the ailing applicants and financial assistance is released for the medical treatment.
