Allama I. I. Kazi Library, Dadu

Allama I. I. Kazi Sindh Government Public Library Dadu was established the year 1965. Prominent personality (Late) Mr. Taj Muhammand Sehrai was founder of this library. Initially, the library remained under the administrative control of District Council Administration Dadu. In 1989, the renovated building was taken by Culture Department, Government of Sindh. Syed Qaim Ali Shah, the then Chief Minister of Sindh inaugurated the library.

The Library is located on main Indus Highway, near Civil Hospital and District Police Officer House Dadu.

Collection of Books & Periodicals
This library has a collection of 25,460 books in all, mainly in Sindhi, Urdu and English including 3,940 donated books. There are around 1000 books for children.

Besides, 46 daily Newspapers and 45 periodicals in Sindhi, Urdu and English are provided in the library for regular readers.

Facilities and Services
The library has separate halls for boys and girls. The halls are air-conditioned and fully equipped with the latest furniture. There is a small computer centre with internet facility for the visitors / readers.

Visitors / Membership
Approximately 150-200 readers visit the library daily. All citizens are entitled to use the library facilities free of cost. However, the national ID (CNIC) is generally sought / checked off and on to ensure safety and security of the readers / visitors.

Timings / Off Days
The library timings are from 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. daily on all working days except Fridays. On Fridays timings are 8.00 am to 1.00 pm only. The library remain closed on Sundays and other public holidays.
