Sachal Sarmast Library, Khairpur

Introduction:
The Culture Department Government of Sindh realized the necessity of the Academic for Social activities of the people, form the cultural and Educational programs point of view, this Academy was founded in the year 1985 on 11-02-1985 and the construction work of the building completed on 22-07-1987, with the cost of Rs. 7,984,675 (Rupees Seven million Nine Hundred Eighty Four Thousand Six Hundred Seventy Five only) situated from North side on National Highway in the Head Quarter Khairpur District.

In Inauguration Ceremony of this Academy of its present Building was performed by the Law and Local Bodies Minster Sindh Mr. Justice Syed Ghous Ali Shah on 11-02-1985. The name of this Academy of has been kept in name of Soofi Saint Hazrat Sachal Sarmast of Daraza Sharif Khairpur, as per decision took place in the Sachal Seminar and thus Academy came in to existence with effect from 11-02-1985. Sachal Academy Khairpur has a beautiful Air Condition Auditorium with the Provision of 350 Seats. The Academy has two Rest Houses, one on Ground Flour and Second on First Flour and there are two servant quarter and one store also in Academy premises. This Academy has one office and Special Library also which are running the Rest House. This library has 1944 Collection of Books on various Topics.

In order to provide Academy service to the people of the city of Khairpur, it is intended to start Adabi Conference, Seminars, Educational and Cultural programs, with the result that people and the coming generation may obtain this gain for improving and developing their lives from the cultural point of view.

At present this Academy is working under the control of Culture Department Government of Sindh. Now, the Sindh Government has been pleased to sanction hand some amount for repairs, renovation and construction work, which work has been completed by the July 2010, as the Academy burrent in December 2007.

However the inauguration ceremony of the Academy was performed by Honorable Syed Qaim Ali Shah Jillani Chief Minster of Sindh on 29 July 2010.
