Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai Library, Ratodero

The Foundation stone of this reading place / centre of excellence was laid down by the then Deputy Commissioner Larkano District on 10-09-1985. Initially, the administrative control of the library remained with Municipal Committee Ratodero until it was handed over to Culture Department, Government of Sindh, in 1992.

Collection of Books and Periodicals
This library has a collection of 11,982 books in all, mainly in Sindhi, Urdu and English. Besides, 22 daily Newspapers and 18 periodicals in Sindhi, Urdu and English are provided in the library for regular readers.

Facilities and Services
This is a small library. It has only two reference halls and one periodical section for newspaper readers and others.

Visitors / Membership
Approximately 200 readers visit the library daily. All citizens are entitled to use the library facilities free of cost. However, the national ID (CNIC) is generally sought / checked off and on to ensure safety and security of the readers / visitors.

Timings / Off Days
The library timings are from 9.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. daily on all working days. The library remain closed on Sundays and other public holidays.
