Vision and Mission of the Directorate
Vision: The Planning, Development, Monitoring & Implementation (PDM&I) Cell of the Culture Department, Government of Sindh, is the strategic backbone through which we turn cultural aspirations into impactful projects. Since our founding in 2003, we have been dedicated to translating vision into tangible outcomes, focusing on the sustainable development and cultural enrichment of Sindh.
Mission: The mission is to protect and promote the province’s rich heritage while fostering a dynamic cultural landscape for future generations.
Core Functions and Areas of Expertise
The PDM&I Cell leads a diverse array of initiatives aimed at preserving, restoring, and enhancing Sindh’s cultural assets. Our key responsibilities include managing the Development Portfolio and M&R (Maintenance & Repair) Works, ensuring the preservation of heritage sites and historic buildings, and developing modern cultural and educational facilities. Our projects span a wide spectrum, from establishing libraries and cultural complexes to building tourist resorts and museums, all with the aim of creating accessible spaces that celebrate Sindh’s heritage.
Project Execution and Documentation
With a skilled team of dedicated professionals, the PDM&I Cell meticulously plans, implements, and oversees projects related to the conservation, preservation, and rehabilitation of historical sites. We maintain rigorous standards of transparency and accountability, supported by comprehensive records management. Every project is documented with detailed PC-I and PC-IV records, working papers, Notice Inviting Tender (NIT), and other financial and administrative documents. This meticulous approach ensures responsible use of public resources and adherence to our mission of preserving Sindh’s heritage.
