The Directorate of Culture, Government of Sindh, is dedicated to the welfare and support of the province’s cultural contributors, including artists, writers, and poets. Through its Endowment Fund, the Directorate provides essential financial assistance to individuals facing medical, family, and personal needs. In 2024, Rs. 14.610 million was allocated to 218 individuals for medical treatment, marriage expenses, and other critical needs, helping them navigate challenges with dignity. Additionally, during the fiscal year 2023-24, stipends of Rs. 60,000 were granted to 1,084 individuals facing financial hardship.
Managed by a high-powered Board led by the Culture Minister and supported by the Department’s Secretary and Director General, the Endowment Fund prioritizes transparency, fairness, and accountability. The Board, which includes nine esteemed members from Sindh’s intellectual and cultural community, rigorously verifies applicants’ credentials and needs. Medical assistance is a top priority, with preference given to ailing applicants to support urgent healthcare needs.
